Design and usability in security systems in daily life as a context of use?

Post  Admin on Sun Jun 07, 2009 9:10 pm

43. Clear T., 2002, Design and usability in security systems in daily life as a context of use? SIGCSE Bulletin Vol. 34, No. 4.
a. There are a number of guidelines and principles for usability that have been violated here, notably: the guideline to 'prepuce short term memory load" , and the principle of adapting the design to the actual operational conditions and environment in which the system will be deployed.
b. Just wait a moments, t his is not a hugely a typical context. We all suffer from security system overload. To what extent have application designers really addressed the true nature of users' needs and profiled in detail the contexts of use in which an individual may interact with any security subsystem? We typically ignore the wider operating environment in the interests of the simpler deign task of focusing on tile single application.
